While his previous massively hit single,”This is America,” with equally as popular-gone-viral music video which sparked controversy with his fearless social commentary about our current political climate. The latest pair of tracks by contrast provide a feel good atmosphere perfect for all the future summer parties.
Gambino’s newest releases solely focus on the ins and outs of short term love. The single, ”Summertime Magic” is the stand out of the two tracks. The Caribbean fused soundscape allows the charming vocal deliver to new unexpected experimental heights. Singer-Songwriter Alex Fleming, using his artistic moniker, Black Atlass, has recently released his debut album,Pain & Pleasure on The Weeknd’s XO record label. You probably first heard of Black Atlass when his collaboration with fellow artist Jessie Reyez, “Sacrifice” appeared on the movie soundtrack for Fifty Shades Freed.
One of the prominent songs on his debut album is the steamy, ”Fantasy”. The music canvas of “Fantasy” is incredibly sensual oozing a steady confidence as the song takes his listeners on a journey to the unknown, while the Montreal native ’s falsetto flexes it’s striking range. “Fantasy” explores someone having doubts of his past lover’s genuine devotion and if it’s all too good to be true.
