This fall, there is more to lose than a title.

Metro Goldwyn Mayer Pictures and Warner Bros. Pictures just dropped the official trailer for CREED II and it packs a punch.

From the opening scene we see the struggles and self doubt that Adonis is going through. Being knocked down to wind up in a hospital bed it is impossible to note the similarities with his mentor, Rocky Balboa. Fighting his inner demons and self doubts he has the woman he loves at his side providing him positivity and his mentor telling him some hard truths.

“In the ring, you got rules,” Rocky’s narration tells Adanois. “Outside, we got nothing. Life hits you with all these cheap shots. People like me…we live in the past.” While Rocky struggles with the losses life has given him and deals with his non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma diagnosis, he wants to impart some wisdom to Adonis, the son of his friend and mentor.

Rocky’s warnings of a new opponent seem to go unheeded by Adonis, feeling he needs to prove something to the world. This follows a training montage (in typical Rocky fashion) set to Kendrick Lamar’s “LOYALTY.” It all builds up to the great reveal fans have been waiting for. Set in a gaudy production as opponents enter the ring we can’t help but be reminded of the showdown in Russia in which Apollo Creed lost his life. History is set to repeat itself as Adonis’ new opponent is finally revealed to be Viktor Drago (Florian Munteanu), son of Ivan Drago – killer of Adonis’ father.

This not only leaves fans stunned but also wanting a new trailer already to see if Drago himself will make an appearance and have his own showdown with Rocky outside of the ring.

Creed II hits theaters Wednesday, November 21st.

Life has become a balancing act for Adonis Creed. Between personal obligations and training for his next big fight, he is up against the challenge of his life. Facing an opponent with ties to his family’s past only intensifies his impending battle in the ring. Rocky Balboa is there by his side through it all and, together, Rocky and Adonis will confront their shared legacy, question what’s worth fighting for, and discover that nothing’s more important than family. Creed II is about going back to basics to rediscover what made you a champion in the first place, and remembering that, no matter where you go, you can’t escape your history.
