Divergent actress Shailene Woodley was arrested this morning during a peaceful protest at the Dakota Access Pipeline.

Woodley was in North Dakota with about 100 other protesters, at a construction site for the controversial project that has upset people for not only cutting across Standing Rock Sioux land and burial grounds, but also threatening the area’s drinking water. Today’s protest was initiated after a federal appeals court ruled Sunday that work on the pipeine can move forward.

Shailene had been broadcasting the protest on Facebook Live for her fans to follow, and video of her arrest can be seen in the stream below. The footage shows police arriving at the protest site. They asked the protesters to leave the private property they were on and, while the actress was doing so she was detained by officers.

“Right now you’re going to be placed under arrest for criminal trespassing,” declares the officer.

“Why am I being arrested and no one else is being arrested right now?” Woodley is heard asking. “You trespassed on the property, so you’re being placed under arrest right now,” the cop says.

“Yeah, but so were hundreds of other people,” Shailene says. “When you asked us to leave, we did.”

“You were identified,” the cops explain.

“All right, I’m being arrested. Because I was trespassing like everyone … it’s because I’m well known. It’s because I have 40,000 people watching.”

Shailene has been actively protesting the project, participating in demonstrations and posting photos and videos on her social media accounts for several weeks.

There is no official word yet on whether the actress has been let go of yet.

People in the industry have been showing their support towards Woodley since the news broke, with both Fault in Our Stars author John Green and co-star Ansel Elgort have sent her messages.
