Christina Aguilera keep surprising her fans as she creates new music and releases it without much fanfare. She recently collaborated for the soundtrack to the Netflix original series The Getdown which was directed by none other than Baz Luhrmann.

The song, titled “Telepathy,” features Nile Rodgers and is a wonderful throwback to the disco era containing groovy beats and Aguilera’s patented soaring vocals. Many fans are hoping for the singers next album (out “later this year”) features a similar vibe to this track. After the song was first discovered by fans it quickly climbed the iTunes Soundtrack charts to be #1 and Aguilera went on to tweet about the collaboration the following day.

The Get Down soundtrack was released on Aug. 12 and also features new material from Janelle Monae, Miguel, and Zayn Malik.
