Jennifer Lawrence has been filming non stop these past couple lf years so it really comes as no surprise that she has stepped away from Sony’s The Rosie Project.

The film tells the story of a socially inept genetics professor who comes up with a scientifically sound survey to find the perfect mate. His plans go awry when he meets Rosie Jarman, who in her whirlwind manner possesses all the opposite qualities he should be looking for.

The character of Rosie had been fashioned as a vehicle for Lawrence and was tailored to her voice and this change will prompt the studio to recast the role and probably also rework the script to fit a new actress.

However, Sources tell Variety that Jennifer Lawrence is in talks to star in an untitled indie that Darren Aronofsky has declared as his next project. The film is currently without a distributor but insiders say the director has begun reaching out to actors with hopes to begin shooting this spring.

Jennifer Lawrence will next be seen starring in David O. Russell’s Joy opening December 25 along with Mockingjay Part 2 on November 21.
