The next adaptation of a John Green book has found its director.

Directing from a script by Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber, Rebecca Thomas will tackle the coming-off-age drama Looking For Alaska, based on John Green’s 2005 debut novel about a boy named Miles (nicknamed Pudge) who goes to a boarding school and falls in love with a girl named -wait for this- Alaska.
made by Fox, Alaska is a Paramount movie. The studio optioned the rights for the movie years ago but where only prompted to greenlight the film after the huge success of Fault.

Thomas has only one other feature credit; she directed the 2012 pic Electrick Children. According to the source, Paramount was specifically looking for a relatively new director to helm the project.

Looking for Alaska has no official release date yet.
