Game of Thrones fans, if you hate spoilers (and seriously, who doesn’t?) we have some bad news for you: the first four episodes of Game of Thrones Season 5 have leaked.

The season premiere is only scheduled for tonight so this is sure to represent a big blow for HBO.

The cable network has been pushing hard to position its new online streaming service, which they unveiled right in time for the season premiere of Game of Thrones. HBO Now, as it is called, allows users to watch the channel’s programming from their computers and mobile devices, not needing a traditional cable subscription like in the past.

The service opened for business this week, providing users who subscribe this month with a 30-day free trial, which would allow viewers to watch the first 4 episodes of the Game of Thrones fifth season for free, given that they are released weekly. These are the same episodes that now have been leaked to the internet, hardening the blow for the network.

We know that this 4 episodes were sent out simultaneously to selected members of the press on the days ahead of the premiere, for reviewing purposes, so it’s highly likely that that’s where the breach came from.

We are saddened by this news. The damage’s been done already and now there’s nothing we can do but to be careful for the next… month or so, trying not to get spoiled.
